I figured this one would get a response out of you :P . Hockey almost bugs me more than baseball simply because we're looking at a lockout/strike/whatever most likely next year, whereas MLB's real problems won't be for a few more years. Trust me, the NFL has its share of problems *cough* Maurice Clarett *cough*, but financially the league is setup to dominate the American sports market for years to come.

As far as the Wings go, definitely let me know. I was even thinking about going as early as this weekend as I checked the schedule and they're hosting first-place Buffalo. I'll let you know.

But don’t talk to baseball players (or hockey for that matter) about salary caps and how it’s helped to make football the number one sport in America.
You have no idea how much it kills me that the NHLPA refuses to compromise on a salary cap. Then again, maybe you do, since I bitch about it enough and it's the topic of roughly every tenth post on my livejournal. (MMM, shameless plug. Haven't done that in a while.)

(The rest of what I wrote has been put here in the interest of not taking up too much room here, because it became way too long once I got on a roll.)

All I can really hope is that the void left will allow indoor lacrosse to finally make a run for some real showtime (as an aside, NHL owners have already been buying into NLL teams just in case).
I definitely wouldn't mind. I was in Philly for a game Monday and grabbed a Wings mini-schedule; people seem interested, so if a group trip down there is in the works, want me to keep you posted?
