I haven’t seen the show yet (it’s waiting on the DVR), but it sounds to me like they’re tying the show in with the movie first. They’re setting up all the outrageous situations that happened in the 2 hours of the movie. Once they’re past that, they can settle in to original content and slower-to-unfold story lines. I’d say give it a chance. And watch the original movie -same name- if you haven’t done so already.

This sounds like they’re trying to match the ante of 24, where the show doesn’t seem too ludicrous until you string the season together and realize Jack’s reenacted every Die Hard, Indiana Jones, Boondock Saints and Oceans movie in the span of a single day.

Lost improved once they set an end date. The producers and writers had to get on with the job of answering the questions instead of killing time with telling us how damaged everyone is.

I might watch Heroes again if the same was done there. Until then, “ethnic-pandering twins powers ACTIVATE!” is unwatchable.

I'd look at something like the Canon PowerShot G11. That series is popular with SLR users as a more compact secondary camera. The SX series also lets you do HD movies, but I'd be wary of a camera that powerful using AA batteries - you'll need to carry a lot of spares. I've also been interesting in Panasonic's Lumix line. Not sure if all of them use Leica lenses, but some do. The DMC-LX3 looks like a really cool "everyday" camera.

I know, its like they purposely set out to screw up a perfecting engaging hour of entertainment. They were too elfin clever for their own good. I gave up on that show in the second season, it hurt my brain to try and watch it. You had a guy flying through the air like superman, another one who could travel through time by scrunching up his face like he was pinching a loaf and yet another who was so unstable he might spontaneously self combust unleashing Armageddon at any moment. There was no amount of finely scripted dialogue that was gonna make this show reasonable and normal.

They should have just went with the fantasy and enjoyed it.

One of the many things that got on my nerves about Heroes was the constant barrage of exposition and explanation of powers. “I am Hiro and I can travel through time, so let me travel through time now to go do something!” Just STFU and do it already!

I got my 50mm over a year ago (same as yours) and I almost never take it off now. Most of the shooting I do is indoors and it excels in low light conditions but like you mention, I love being physically involved with the photography; crawling, twisting, and straining to pop off just the right shot.
