I felt her move

I think there’s something incredibly awesome about the fact that I never felt a baby move until it was my own. Well, you know, while it was still not quite finished. Undoubtedly my dear readers are clamoring for some updates on this whole baby-making project, so here’s a little view for y’all:

The Woman's expanding abdomen

Maybe I’m just the sappiest guy around, but that’s beautiful. It’s amazing just how much delight I get out of rubbing her belly and talking to our unborn child. And the fact that I’ve actually felt her move… wow. Doesn’t it weird anyone else out that we grow our children this way? I mean, it seems natural and unnatural at the same time. Does that make any sense?

Regardless, The Woman is wearing this pregnancy quite wonderfully:

The Woman in all of her pregnant glory

Ain’t she beautiful?

In honor of this relationshippy post, I’m going to toss in that relationship meme that was floating around – after the break:

1. Who eats more?
Well, now that she’s pregnant… wait… it’s still me? I don’t know what’s going on, but I feel like I’ve got the appetite of a pregnant woman these days.

2. Who said “I love you” first?
She did. And she hasn’t stopped saying it since.

3. How long have you been together?
About 5 and a half years – with 4 months until our 2nd wedding anniversary

4. Who sings better?
HAHAHAHA!!! I think it’s safe to say that my unique voice carries our duets in Karaoke Revolution. I am the Yoko to her Paul.

5. Who’s older?
Her. Even though most think she’s younger.

6. Who’s smarter?
Me. That’s her answer.

7. Whose temper is worse?
Me. There are several video game controllers that can attest to this fact.

8. Who does the laundry?
Both.

9. Who does the dishes?
Both. These days it’s usually me, but it varies.

10. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed?
Me.

11. Who snores?
Her. It’s really adorable and makes me giggle. To get back, apparently I chew in my sleep.

12. Whose hair is longer?
Hers.

13. Who’s better with the computer?
Hmmmmm. I guess I’ll give myself the edge…

14. Do you have pets?
One Guinea Pig (Shadow) and one parakeet (Booboo Birdie)

16. Who cooks dinner?
Her. Although I contribute.

17. Who drives when you are together?
Me.

18. Who pays when you go out to dinner?
Me. Although it’s really our money.

19. Who is the most stubborn?
Honestly I don’t think either of us is stubborn. I’d probably say I am a little more…

20. Who is the first one to admit when they’re wrong?
Both.

21. Whose parents do you see more?
Hers.

22. Who named your kids?
Well, it’s not official yet. But we agreed on a name together.

23. Who kissed who first?
Definitely me. Not that she minded (wink, wink, nudge, nudge)

24. Who asked who out?
As I’ve described it before, she kinda tricked me into dating her. So I’ll lay the blame on her.

26. Who’s more sensitive?
Her. I laugh at way too many events that other people consider tragic.

28. Who has more friends?
This is a tough one. She has older friends than me, and most of mine now fall into the “mutual” category.

29. Who has more siblings?
Me!

30. Who wears the pants in the relationship?
I’ve been trying to convince her that she should wear more skirts, but so far it’s not taking…

31. Who’s more sexy?
Definitely her. Take a look at the photos above. There’s a reason I’m not posting photos of my belly!

32. Who sleeps naked?
Neither.

33. Who has the craziest ex?
Considering one of mine actually was committed, I think I “win” this one.

34. Who has more money?
Well, all of my money is in the joint account. So she has that plus her personal account. I guess it’s her.

35. Who has more tattoos?
Neither.

36. Who eats more sweets?
Me. She’s more likely to have a craving, but she also has more self control.

37. Who is closer to their family?
Both. She sees and talks to her family more, but I’m from a big family. We do things differently.

38. Who has the older car?
Her. Although I’ve had my car longer.

39. Who has bigger dreams?
I have no idea what that even means…

40. Who cries more?
Her. These days she can barely make it through some commercial breaks. By the time Extreme Home Makeover comes on… forget about it…

  1. AWWWW!!! Those are great pictures. I’m all teary eyed with happiness for you guys. This is great. And you know it’s a girl, yay! When is the due date?

  2. What wonderful pictures! Thanks for posting them. I was thinking about you guys just the other day, wondering how the pregnancy was going. Wow! She looks fantastic!

And yea, the whole thing is a little weird. I occasionally referred to mine as “aliens,” but I also sang to them and talked to them all the time. You’ll be amazed how much of the personality becomes evident in later pregnancy, and holds over in the newborn stage and beyond.

Oh, and if you think this is weird, just wait ’til the birth!

  3. Congrats again 🙂
With our little niece out and about, I’ve seen the tail end of what you guys are going to be going through. I didn’t feel her kick while she was still inside, but I’ve gotten to hold her a few times now, and I’m amazed that something that tiny is actually alive, and roughly three times as loud as I am.

  4. @Lissette – Thanks. The due date is July 13th.

@Sandy – I need to post more photos. I even built the crib the other night. Are our lives really over now?

@Mrs. Suit – It’s pretty amazing how sudden the change can be.

@Markus – I’ve experienced it a little bit with all of my nieces and nephews, but I’ve never been around any of them on a daily basis. At least I already got over my fear of holding newborns. But the first time The Woman mentioned me taking care of her by myself I almost freaked.

  5. I can’t believe how big she is!!!! So exciting. I can’t wait to meet the little lady 🙂
    Miss you guys.
    xoxo
