Goodbye Jessie. We miss you already.
Shadow is still going strong, and I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before we get him a new companion – but Teddy and Jessie will always remain the original goobers:
Today is about a week shy of the 1 year anniversary of Teddy’s death.
Jessie fought pretty hard since we noticed the stone. We had to put Teddy to sleep not much more than a week after the issue first developed. Jessie lasted over a month. But in the end, there were just to many factors pulling his system in one direction or another. He barely ate the past couple days and was too weak to move today. I can only hope that my efforts to save him did him more good than harm. We love and miss both of you guys.
🙁 I’m sorry…
Ahhhh … I am sorry for you guys … all the best to you and your animal friends …
Sorry to hear about your loss 🙁 …you did everything possible. I hope everything is well for Shadow.
I’m sorry 🙁
Jeff and I were thinking… do you give them distilled water or regular filtered?
Awwww, sorry to hear that 🙁
I was just thinking about my late Chewbacca last night, actually. Specifically her little stuffed Pound Puppy aptly named “Doggie” that she loved. She’d put his head up on the food dish and put him upside down under the water bottle.
And of course use him as a pillow 😛 Amazing how much we can love those little buggers, eh?
Thanks for all of the well-wishing. Things are going well now, I’m most concerned for Shadow. He seems a little depressed and lost. At least he’s still eating.
@mizerychik – We just filter the tap water. But the more we look at the water coming through our pipes, the more we think about getting a filtration system for the entire house. I doubt that was the problem, but I’m sure it didn’t help.
Okay, we got to thinking about this because we went to a coworker’s house and she had a bottle of distilled water for her cat. Apparently the vet told her that distilled is better for animals because it doesn’t have the minerals that could end up causing… kidney stones.
And, as a bonus, you get fresh distilled water from the dehumidifier (we use it in the space dryer 5000)
